Now his friends and family hope news of his death will help others suffering with mental health issues to seek help.
Friends have now set up their own group on Facebook for people to turn to if they want someone to speak to about their probelsm. In the last few days thousands of people have joined.
Liam's friend Stephen Flanagan from Speke set it up. He said: "We just want to do something for the people of Liverpool.
"Want to show that no one's alone. They can always come forward and speak out"
As well as the group, events have been planned to highlight the issues of mental health.
A charity night is taking place at the O.L.A today at 8.30pm
A memorial walk will be held in Liverpool City Centre next month in Liam's memory. It's starting at the Bombed Out Church on the 1st November.
