Seven World War Two devices found in two days

Liverpool getting back to normal after police and bomb squad called to deal with seven WW2 devices in two days

Cordons are being lifted again in Liverpool City Centre after a series of bomb alerts.

Roads have been sealed off and businesses evactuated after the discovery of two suspected unexploded World War Two bombs yesterday.

Today emergency services were back again to the Pall Mall area deal with another five.

No-one has been injured and the devices have been taken away for further examination and to be safely dealt with.

During the course of the day, five shells were recovered (seven in total – two recovered yesterday). > > > > These have now been examined by the EOD and have been found to be empty shells. > > > > The construction company has now ceased work at the site and the Health and Safety Executive are on site.
