Police are investigating a shooting in Old Swan last night.

Officers were called to 9.45pm following reports that shots had been fired at an address in Woodhall Road. Officers attended the scene and found damage to a window consistent with a firearm discharge. No one was injured in the incident. An investigation into the shooting has been launched and police are seeking a group of men seen outside the address prior to the incident. The shooting is initially believed to be targeted at this early stage of the investigation and a high visibility police presence will remain in the area in the coming days to provide reassurance to the community. Forensic, CCTV and house-to-house enquiries are being carried out. Liverpool Superintendent Matt Boyle said: “We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw a group of men in cars in the area of Woodhall Road around 20 minutes before the incident. “There appears to have been some suspicious activity close to the address and any detail you may have, however small, may be vital in our investigations.” Detectives are appealing to anyone who may have information which could help them with their inquiries to contact detectives through 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
