A man's died and a child's been taken to hospital after a crash in Widnes
Emergency services were called to A562 Speke Road at 4.35pm on Tuesday 3rd January
A silver Vauxhall Vectra came off the carriageway, close to the junction of the Knowsley Expressway.
The driver of the vehicle, believed to be a 48-year-old man from Warrington, sadly died at the scene. A child, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was taken to Alder Hey as a precautionary measure.
Next of kin are being informed and a formal ID is due to take place today.
Police are appealing for witnesses, who are being asked to call 101 quoting incident number 566 of 3 Januray 2017.
