Man arrested over Birkenhead stabbing

A man's been arrested over a stabbing in Birkenhead last week.

Detectives investigating an assault in Birkenhead on Friday have arrested a man on suspicion of wounding.

At about 4am on Friday 5th August emergency services were called to Argyle Street to a report that a 29-year-old man had sustained puncture wounds to his torso. It is believed the man was stabbed following an altercation. He was taken to hospital with serious, but not life threatening injuries. A 27-year-old man, from Tranmere, has been bailed pending further enquiries.
