It's believed dozens of people on Merseyside will spend Christmas on the streets. Since 2010, the amount of rough sleepers has more than doubled across the country.

Radio City News joined Birkenhead boxing champ, Sean "Masher" Dodd in a sleep-out to raise awareness of the issue.

Wendy has been homeless for thirty years and said, "It’s so horrible. Last week when it was raining all day I was sitting there all day just dripping wet... shivering and shivering,"

You can hear our documentary "Dying on the streets of Birkenhead" tonight on Radio City Talk at 6:30 pm.
