Man arrested after two bodies found

It's understood two women found dead at a house in Anfield this morning, were mother and daughter.

At 9.50am this morning, a call was received about a concern for the safety of two women at a house in Cathedral Road, Anfield. Patrols attended and two bodies were found at the address.

A 42-year-old man from the Anfield area has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody, where he will be questioned by officers.

A Home Office Post Mortem will take place to determine the causes of death for both women.

Speaking to us at the scene, this man who lives near to the scene spoke of his shock at what's happened.

"It's normally quiet, you hardly see anything, You don't hear anything. The whole community will be scared now".

Another woman who didn't want to be named lives just around the corner from the victms. She said

"I saw the police this morning - I thought it's going to be those kids again with the scrambler bikes definitely. Then someone said to me it's a double murder - I just went sick."
