Simon Cowell 'let down' X Factor winner with song choice
'Forever Young' flopped in the charts
Simon Cowell is regretting the song choice picked for The X Factor winner, Louisa Johnson.
That’s according to reports which said he’s disappointed with the cover of Bob Dylan’s ‘Forever Young’ which hasn’t done too well in the charts.
Usually The X Factor winner’s song is a potential Christmas number one, but this looks unlikely for this one. Some bookies are apparently putting the odds at 50/1 at seeing the song get to number one.
The talent show boss is apparently blaming the tempo of the song though and not Louisa.
A source told a national newspaper that although it was thought the tune would do well, bosses now feel that a more up-tempo song would have been better.
It’s rumoured that the single sold 39,000 copies in its first week whereas Ben Haenow, who won in 2014, sold 214,000 copies of ‘Something I Need’.
