Paris Jackson hits out at 'offensive' Michael Jackson portrayal as Sky pull the plug
Joseph Fiennes played the late music icon.
Paris Jackson, the daughter of late music icon Michael Jackson, has been called upon to support the boycott of a Sky Arts programme that featured a portrayal of her father in the comedy series Urban Myths.
The comedy featured Shakespeare In Love actor Joseph Fiennes as Michael Jackson and told the story of a fictional car journey the singer took alongside Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando after 9/11.
Paris Jackson was asked what her opinion was and she revealed that the idea of the show made her want to 'vomit'.
As the first pictures emerged many had criticised how Fiennes looked as the iconic Jackson.
After 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the programme to be axed, Sky has now taken the decision to do so and released the following statement:
"We have taken the decision not to broadcast Elizabeth, Michael and Marlon, a half hour episode from the Sky Arts Urban Myths series, in light of the concerns expressed by Michael Jackson's immediate family.
We set out to take a light-hearted look at reportedly true events and never intended to cause any offence. Joseph Fiennes fully supports our decision."
