Merseyside Police have confirmed they're looking into a number of tweets which appear to have been sent by a user in Anfield.

The incident was referred to their hate crime unit to see whether any criminal offences have taken place.
It is now believed that the tweets have been sent from a user in Nigeria though, rather than anyone locally.
