A man's been arrested after a drone dropped a suspect package over Walton Prison last week
A man's been arrested after a drone was seen flying above Walton Prison last week
At around 1.50am, patrols on Hornby Road were made aware by prison staff of a drone being seen above the prison.
The drone was seen with an object below it, before it was seen to be flown away minus any object. It was seen to land close to Rice Lane Farm.
A 44-year-old man from Anfield was located nearby and arrested on suspicion of conveying a prohibited article into prison.
He has been conditionally bailed pending further enquiries.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said "We will continue to work closely with the prison service in identifying persons suspected of committing similar offences."
