Homemade Explosives Found At House In Wavertree
Two home-made explosivers were found at a house in Wavetree last night.
Officers were called to a small fire at a house on Goswell Street in Wavertree just before 11pm last night.
When they got there they realised the front door had been scorched by a home-made explosive and another one was found inside the house.
The Army's Explosive Ordance Disposal team were called to remove and dispose of the second device.
The road has now been cordoned off and police are carrying out forensic investigations.
They're also checking CCTV from the area and they're appealing for any witnesses to come forward. At this stage of the investigation the motive for the incident is unclear and enquiries are on-going.
