Body found in Southport Marine Lake has now been identified

Man found in Lake on Saturday morning was 58 year old from St Helens

Merseyside Police can confirm that a man whose body was found in Southport Marine Lake on Saturday morning, 4 June, has been formally identified as 58 year-old Stephen Christopher Barlow, from St Helens.

A post mortem has revealed Mr Barlow died from drowning. His next of kin have been informed and enquiries are ongoing.

Detectives are keen to establish how Mr Barlow came to be in Southport and his movements leading up to his death and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
