Ed Sheeran donates £1million to youth centre and could volunteer in charity shop
The Nicest Man In Showbiz™ strikes again
Proving yet again that he’s The Nicest Man In Showbiz™, Ed Sheeran is reportedly set to volunteer at a charity shop in his hometown.
The flame-haired singer has been touring relentlessly over the past few years and is now said to be taking a short break from music to help out at a Sue Ryder shop in his native Framlingham, Suffolk.
24-year-old Ed, who recently sold out three nights at London’s Wembley Stadium, is also heavily involved in a project to turn a disused Framlingham police station into a youth centre.
Sue Ryder manager Jacqui Bell told the Sunday Mirror: “There's a good possibility he will volunteer here. We'd welcome him.
“My volunteers, who are aged between 61 and 91, know Ed because he was brought up in the town. They would be fine working with him.
“He purchased the old police station to open up a youth club for £1million, so he'll also be helping there when it's up and running. I think he will draw the youngsters into our shop which would be good for us.”
Of course, it won’t be the first time Ed has done work for charitable causes.
In 2012 he raised £40,000 performing a charity gig in Bristol for street sex workers and he was one of the many stars to lend his voice to the Band Aid 30 single last year.
Back in March he donated all the clothes he wore at the Grammys to his local St Elizabeth Hospice charity shop. The sale raised £4,000 for the charity which helps improves the lives of people with progressive illnesses.
