WATCH: Tom Hardy on his legendary Dubsmash videos & whether Leonardo DiCaprio will do one!

“I couldn’t give a monkeys about making a fool out of myself”, he admits

Published 7th Sep 2015

Last month, Tom Hardy single-handedly set the Internet alight when Dubsmash videos surfaced of him lip-syncing along to anthems by The Bee Gees, Whitney Houston, 50 Cent and more!

Easily the funniest thing we’ve seen in AGES, when Radio City 3’s Jo Parkerson met up with Tom and director Brian Helgeland to talk about their Kray twins biopic Legend we just had to ask him about his foray into Dubsmash.

Joking that it was a “public shaming” after 50 Cent shared his rendition of ‘P.I.M.P’, Tom told us: “Those things are from where we went crazy in Calgary. We were doing The Revenant (upcoming western thriller).

“Y’know it would come to a point where we… were sitting about working out which is the latest app to keep us entertained with, so we just did a whole load of dubsmash… The Beach Boys, The BeeGees, Freddie Mercury and Simon & Garfunkel.”

Asked by Jo whether his The Revenent co-star Leonardo DiCaprio would ever record one, Tom laughed: “No you won’t get that. He’s an ambassador, you don’t mess with that! Me, I’m not so bothered about making a fool out of myself… I couldn’t give a monkeys!

“It would be good (to see our two beards together) but that’s why it’s probably never going to happen!”

Tom also joked that it must have been a “slow news day” for his Dubsmashes to make the press: “Clearly there’s much more important things going on in the world. It’s a bit of fun, it’s been going for a while so I’ve just been caught out and exposed. I’ve been royally malleted for doing it in the press!”
