Police continue appeal after fatal Flimby crash

Police are continuing their appeal for witnesses or information following a fatal collision on A596 at Flimby on Sunday 15th May.

Officers were contacted at 12.08am on 15th May with a report of a collision involving a vehicle and two pedestrians on the A596.

Bethanie Clark, 31, of Lowca and David Muir, 43, of Parton sadly died as a result of the collision.

Officers have been conducting CCTV enquiries and are looking to identify four vehicles that were in the area of the collision, just beforehand, and are keen to speak to anyone who was driving from Flimby towards the 40mph zone heading towards Workington before midnight on 14th and into the 15th May.

Officers are also keen to speak to a female driver who stopped her vehicle and told another witness to call the police before continuing on her journey.

A 30-year-old woman from west Cumbria was arrested on suspicion of two counts of causing death by dangerous driving. She was later bailed.
