An investigation is underway after a crash involving more than a dozen vehicles on the M6 in Cumbria.

The emergency services were called just before 5pm yesterday (Sunday 8 January).

The motorway was closed northbound for several hours between Shap and Penrith.

No details have been released of any injuries suffered.
