Joint investigation launched into multiple Barrow house fires

An investigation continues today after a major fire in Barrow.

13 properties were evacuated at around 5pm Thursday night (22 June, 2023).

Both Cumbria Police and Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service have launched inquiries into this case.

It's after a blaze ripped through a row of houses on Salthouse Road and Marsh Street.

13 homes were evacuated.

Eight properties have been deemed uninhabitable but we're told, fortunately no one was injured.

Investigations into the circumstances of the fire are ongoing and officers are conducting a number of enquiries in the area including CCTV and house to house.

Officers are appealing for anyone with dashcam who were in the area at the time or who witness the incident is asked to contact police if they have not done so already.
