Police are appealing for witnesses following a report of an incident in the Beacon Edge area of Penrith.

At 12.27pm yesterday (11 Aug), police received a call from a member of the public who saw a small red car come onto Beacon Edge from the mini roundabout. Two people were travelling in the car, which then came to a stop at the cemetery junction.

A woman believed to be in her 60s stepped out of the car, quickly followed by a man of similar age who was seen to grab the woman and prevent her from leaving the area.

A short time later, the car was seen heading back towards the mini roundabout and turning towards the A6.

Officers are investigating the report and are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed anything which may assist or anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage which could help officers in their investigation.

The man was described as white and as having grey hair, bald on top. He was wearing a white t-shirt.
