Carlisle has been illuminated in coloured lights
This week Carlisle became a 'City of Lights' with many of the city's landmarks being illuminated in colour.
The citadel buildings, railway station and pubs such as The Griffin and The Kings Head are now glowing in changing colours.
Laser writing has been projected onto the side of Carlisle Castle and cleverly placed lights in the windows of Carlisle Civic Centre form the shape of a purple heart.
The inside of the cathedral has seen a spectacular light and sound show themed around space projecting images of the stars, galaxies and beyond onto the walls and ceiling of the cathedral.
