Darian Mackinnon wants to finish his career at Hamilton

Darian MacKinnon is hoping to see out the rest of his career at Hamilton after signing a one-year contract extension.

The 30-year-old midfielder, who moved to Accies in 2012 after previously playing amateur and junior football, has tied himself to the Premiership club until 2017.

Hamilton have also announced 32-year-old forward Dougie Imrie, in his second spell at Accies, has agreed to sign a two-year extension which takes him up until 2018.

MacKinnon said: "I would love to finish my days here, I love it here. I never want to leave.

"They gave me my chance in football and since I have been here, from the chairman to the managers that have been here, everyone has been good to me.

"It is a weight off the mind. I was worried about it but we got it over the line so I am delighted.

"It is such a good place to play. I didn't want to go somewhere else where I might not be accepted as much so it is good to get it over the line.''

Player-manager Martin Canning admitted the two contract extensions were a boost to the club.

He said: "Dougie has been brilliant since he came back to the club.

"He runs his socks off every week and the GPS (tracking devices) shows he has covered more miles than anybody and fitness has never been an issue for him. He is a fit boy.

"He is doing his coaching as well so it is good to get him tied up.

"And Darian has been excellent this season as well so it great for us to have them both tied up on longer term deals.''

Canning is also pleased with the signing of 23-year-old forward Christopher Mandiangu until the end of the season.

The Congo-born former Germany under-18 international, most recently with FC Eindhoven in the Dutch second tier, trained with Accies for three weeks before the deal was completed on Tuesday.

Canning said: "Chris comes in and he is more direct, more of a dribbler if you like, which is something we don't really have. So he will offer something different.''
