LISTEN: Adele premieres 30-second song snippet during The X Factor
She is back at last!
Adele is officially back! YES!
Last night the songstress unveiled a 30-second snippet of material from her upcoming third album during an ad break on The X Factor.
Played during Sunday night’s show, the 30-second clip featured just a black screen, some rousing piano chords, Adele’s instantly recognisable voice and the lyrics for a song.
Adele sings: “Hello, it’s me / I was wondering if after all these years / you’d like to meet to go over everything / they say that time’s supposed to heal ya / but I ain’t done much healing ...”.
Keeping up the enigmatic aura, there were no further details in the teaser clip – including the song title, album title or release date.
It’s widely expected that the follow-up to 2008’s ‘19’ and 2011’s ‘21’ will land this November.
‘21’ of course became the best-selling UK album of the millennium shifting 4.6million copies here and an incredible 11million stateside.
Also highly critically acclaimed, the blockbuster heartbreak record won six Grammy Awards and two BRITs.
The A-List producers on board for the new album include Gnarls Barkley's Brian Burton (aka Danger Mouse), Swedish hitmaking maestro Max Martin and One Republic star Ryan Tedder.
