The council say they're struggling to cope with the sheer number of noise complaints they're getting across Leeds.

A report's going before the council this week saying the number is "unsustainable" - as 60% of calls to the anti social team are about noise.

Bosses are going to urgently change how they deal with situations to help cope with the demand.

Anita and Steve were raising their baby boy in Leeds when their noisy neighbours were having parties every weekend:

"It was just exhausting because the music went on for that long, and then in the morning you’d have to get up and just carry on and they’d obviously be quiet then because they’d sleep for the rest of the day", Anita said.

"It just makes you so exhausted because it was literally every weekend and they’d start early tea time. "

"We put in a complaint against them", Steve explains.

"They came round to tell them to turn the music down, then when the people from the council were gone they'd turn it back up again."

"I don’t think the council have got the resources and that’s what it is. There’s that much of it now they really need to come down a bit harder with more resources and more people to combat it. "

The council say they're going to change they way they handle complaints - with a more flexible out-of-hours service to work more effectively with communities.
