Two people have been arrested in connection of the murder of a man in Leeds

Christopher Laskaris was found dead at his flat in St John's Close, Hyde Park, on Thursday, November 17.

A 37-year-old man, from Leeds, was arrested this morning in Leeds city centre on suspicion of murder in relation to the death of Christopher Laskaris, aged 24, who was found dead at his flat in St John's Close, Hyde Park, on Thursday, November 17.

A 22-year-old woman, from Leeds, has also been arrested on suspicion of murder.

In a statement released today his family said:

"Christopher, also known as Adam to his friends, was a deeply loved son and brother. Losing him has broken our hearts and words cannot express our pain. He was 24 years old and his future has been tragically cut short."

"We would like to thank the police for their continued and dedicated hard work in searching for the perpetrator of this tragedy."

"If anyone has any information about Adam or has seen something, however trivial it may seem, we beg you to please come forward."

"We would appreciate privacy while we try to cope with our terrible loss."

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Swift, of West Yorkshire Police Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said:

"We have been carrying out extensive enquiries into Christopher's murder and these two arrests are a significant development."

"We are still building up picture of Christopher's life and the circumstances surrounding his death and we would like to hear from anyone who has any information that could assist the investigation."
