Emergency services in Leeds have been tackling a huge blaze in Farnley.

It broke out at around three o’clock at Geldards Coaches on Whitehall Road Industrial Estate.

At its height around fifty firefighters were tackling the blaze which engulfed a 2-storey building and a number of buses and coaches.

The building also contains a number of gas cylinders and a diesel storage tank which are presenting extra hazards to our crews who are tackling the fire.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue told Radio Aire that early indications are that the cause of the fire is accidental.

Crews are expected to remain at the scene for some considerable time, in all likelihood throughout the night, to ensure that the fire is bought under control and completely extinguished.
