Rihanna to receive Bob Dylan-esque documentary
A feature-length film is in the works
Rihanna will be the subject of a feature-length documentary film that promises an ‘unfiltered look’ into the singer’s life.
The documentary will be directed by Peter Berg, who previously worked with singer on action movie ‘Battleship’, and is expected to receive a full cinema release.
The project will be an “unfiltered look into Rihanna’s life and how she’s ascended to become a global icon” and is “much more of a character study than a music film,” according to Berg.
Deadline has likened the movie to a contemporary version of 1969 rock documentary ‘Don’t Look Back’, chronicling the life of iconic singer-songwriter Bob Dylan.
There is currently no official word on the when the film will be released.
Rihanna is currently working on her first album since 2012’s ‘Unapologetic’ and has released one official single from the project so far - ‘FourFiveSeconds’ featuring Kanye West and Paul McCartney.
Kanye West has also revealed that he is “executively producing” Rihanna’s new album, adding that her eighth studio album is “coming soon”.
