Lady Gaga enters the Songwriters’ Hall of Fame
She is being honoured for her "iconic status in pop culture"
Lady Gaga is set to enter the Songwriters’ Hall of Fame this summer.
The 29-year-old will pick up the first ever ‘Contemporary Icon Award’ at a ceremony on 19th June.
The ‘Bad Romance’ singer is being earmarked for her “iconic status in pop culture”, according to a statement from the Hall.
Also being recognised are singer-songwriter Van Morrison – who will receive the Johnny Mercer Award – and fun.’s Nate Ruess who picks up the Hal David Starlight Award for young songwriters.
Meanwhile, Gaga recently landed her first regular acting role on US television series ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’.
Her co-star Sarah Poulson has revealed her excitement at the casting, telling E! News that Gaga’s “theatrical style” is a natural fit for the show.
She added: “I think nobody does it better than Lady Gaga. She’ll fit right in.”
