Katy Perry Names New Album Via Viral Campaign
A mysterious golden truck appears in Los Angeles
Katy Perry has revealed the album title and release date of her fourth album through an inspired viral campaign.
A huge gold semi-truck appeared in Los Angeles yesterday emblazoned with the words ‘KATY PERRY – PRISM – 10-22-13 – unveiling the album’s name and release of 22nd October.
Fervent fans, including a certain Adam Lambert, took to Twitter to post photos of the gold truck in giddy excitement.
Last night Katy told her 40million Twitter followers: “Find the #PRISM semi, take a picture and I'll RT you. Don't worry, Los Angeles is just the first stop on the map.”
When asked by a fan whether ‘Prism’ is the title of the album or the lead single, Katy responded “Album!”
Although it’s yet to be officially confirmed, rumours are about that Katy’s new single will be called ‘Rainbow’.
Katy has been working hard record for the past months with a string of big name songwriters and producers including Sia, Diplo, Max Martin, Dr Luke and Bonnie McKee.
Katy’s 2010 album ‘Teenage Dream’ has now sold over 6million copies since its release, including 1million in the UK alone.
