A Nissan Micra was being pursued by officers, after failing to stop, when it clipped another vehicle on Edward Road just before 12.50pm on Friday (17 May).

A teenage passenger, thrown from the Micra, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

He remains in a stable condition and has been arrested for possession of a firearm.

A second man, 28, made off from the vehicle but was arrested nearby on suspicion of firearms offences and possession of class A drugs.

Police said the weapon recovered was live and viable.
