Dave Berry is here to wake you up every morning on Absolute Radio, and our whole family of stations, every weekday from 6am. The Dave Berry Breakfast Show is packed full of the biggest guests and great gigs, but who is the man behind the mic? Get to know Dave Berry a little bit better right here...

Check out our handy Q&A with the Breakfast Show host, from his most memorable gig, to what can we expect from his show on Absolute Radio and all the ways to listen. Ever wondered which song would be his exception to the No Repeat Guarantee? Or what his go-to decade is? We've got you covered.

Who were the first band that got you into music?

"The Beatles probably feature somewhere on most people's list and for me it was discovering the medley on the B-Side of Abbey Road. From there I plundered my parents' record collection for more Beatles and unearthed plenty of other gems along the way from Marvin Gaye to David Bowie."

What is your most memorable gig?

"The first time Oasis played Knebworth. It’s obviously near on impossible to know if you’re at a legendary gig at the time but even back then, on the way to it on the train I think we all knew we were part of something special, a live event that people would talk about for years to come."

Of course, you can only imagine how excited Dave when when the news broke that Oasis were officially reuniting! Check out all of the clues that led up to the Oasis reunion.

Who's the best guest you've had on the show and why?

"I have been blessed with some truly incredible guests over the years, fine folk who have been on top form from Jennifer Lawrence to Dave Grohl via Stephen Fry, however my favourite on-air moment involving a guest is when we had technical issues during my time with Denzel Washington and I asked him to sack the camera operator Phil. What unfolded was pure gold.

What can we expect from your show on Absolute Radio?

"Music, guests and big adventures alongside our brilliant listeners over sharing with little or no shame at all!"

Which song could be your exception to the No Repeat Guarantee?

"I do tend to get a little obsessed with songs and whether it be a new one or an old favourite I will play it over and over again for a week. Currently on loop it’s Editors ‘An End has a Start’. The song I could listen to forever would be The Rolling Stones, ‘Gimme Shelter’, it’s perfection."

Which Absolute decade is your go-to?

"Before I joined the Absolute family I was a 60s kinda guy... But now I’d have to say The Main Station as I don’t want to upset anybody. You simply cannot pick your favourite child."

What’s been your biggest highlight from your time at Absolute Radio?

"Creating and launching Absolute Radio: You. We spent a month on air speaking with so many wonderful listeners all of whom dreamed of having their very own bespoke radio station. In the end we unearthed Natalie Cole, and Absolute Radio Natalie was born! The whole process from beginning to end was so much fun and so rewarding."

What is your favourite thing about presenting?

"When it comes to hosting the Breakfast Show it’s the unscripted, funny, silly and sometimes slightly surreal brilliance of the team I get to chat with every morning. Matt, Emma, Anna and Glenn make getting up very, very early a joy."
