Whitesnake have cancelled their entire 2020 UK, European and US tour due to a David Coverdale health issue that requires surgery.
David Coverdale made the announcement on Twitter this lunch time confirming he needs to undergo surgery for a bilateral inguinal hernia.
All of Whitesnake’s upcoming shows have been axed including their co-headline UK tour with Foreigner, which was due to call in at London, Cardiff, Birmingham, Glasgow, Newcastle and Manchester. Europe were the special guests at all dates.
Whitesnake were also due to play a standalone headline show (without Foreigner) at Belfast’s SSE Arena on Wednesday 10th June. A month later, they were due to embark on a US tour with Sammy Hagar and The Circle.
David Coverdale’s statement reads: "Once again it breaks my heart to be the bearer of even more sad news affecting Whitesnake's touring schedule for this increasingly challenging year, 2020.
"All tours, Europe, UK & US, are being cancelled owing to health issues, related specifically to a bilateral inguinal hernia requiring me to have surgery.
"At this time, I can only offer You & my amazing musicians in Whitesnake & our crew my love & my sincere apologies & also my regrets to my friends in Foreigner, Europe & Sammy Hagar for this unforeseen personal health issue, which I will have addressed at the first possible opportunity.
“Until then, I send my love to you & yours & hopefully we will meet again along the road."
