Tim Burgess reveals guests for series two of Tim's Listening Party on Absolute Radio

We’re delighted to announce that following the rip-roaring success of the first series, Tim’s Listening Party hosted by Charlatans frontman Tim Burgess returns for a second run of shows on Absolute Radio this summer.
The eight-part second series of Tim’s Listening Party kicks off on Sunday 23rd July at 10pm with American music legends Sparks, aka Ron and Russell Mael, sharing stories and insights into their critically-lauded Top 10 album ‘The Girl is Crying in Her Latte’, which was released back in May.
With more to be announced, other guests confirmed for the second series so far include Matt Johnson chatting about The The’s seminal debut album ‘Soul Mining’, Haim sharing stories about their breakthrough 2013 album ‘Days Are Gone’, and Lloyd Cole talking about Lloyd Cole and the Commotions’ 1984 debut ‘Rattlesnakes.’
Enthusing about the second series, Tim Burgess said: “The response to the first series of The Listening Party has been brilliant and it’s exciting to be back on Absolute Radio with series two. We’ve got some incredible artists and brilliant albums coming up and I can’t wait to share them with listeners.”

Tim’s Listening Party became an immediate online sensation on Twitter when it was started in March 2020, and over the past three years music royalty including Iron Maiden, Paul McCartney, New Order, Kylie Minogue, Nick Mason and Duran Duran have taken part.
The concept was brought to life in a brand-new audio format on Absolute Radio in association with Soho Studios Entertainment, when the first seven-part series launched in March 2023.
Guests on the first series included Def Leppard, Fall Out Boy, U2, Skunk Anansie, Texas, The Bangles and The Kinks.
As a podcast, Tim’s Listening Party was the Number One Music Podcast in the UK, Ireland, New Zealand and Spain as well as being the Top Music Podcast on Spotify UK.

Tim’s Listening Party returns to Absolute Radio on Sunday 23rd July at 10pm. The show will air weekly at the same time for seven further weeks.
The Tim’s Listening Party series is will also be made available as a podcast, available from the Absolute Radio app and website, plus wherever else you get your podcasts.
