The Prodigy have been forced to cancel two headline festival performances this weekend due to medical reasons.

The Essex rave rockers were due to top the bill at Dreambeach Festival in Spain tonight (11th August) and Boomtown Fair, at the Matterley Estate, on Sunday (13th August)

Unfortunately, The Prodigy have issued a statement confirming the concerts won’t be going ahead because Maxim has sustained a back injury.

“The Prodigy have unfortunately been forced to cancel their upcoming headline festival performances at Dreambeach (ES) and Boomtown (UK) under doctor’s orders, as Maxim recovers from a temporary back injury,” the statement read.

“This isn’t a decision the band take lightly and they apologise to all fans who are travelling to these shows. We will update everyone on his progress and future shows as soon as possible.”

Boomtown Fair said in their own statement: "There is no easy way to say this. The Prodigy can no longer play at Boomtown 2023.

"Maxim has suffered a back injury and is unable to perform following medical advice.

"We and the band are gutted and know you will be feeling the same."

Boomtown added that it hopes that The Prodigy can return to headline the event in 2024.

Following their summer shows, The Prodigy play a seven-date UK arena tour in November 2023. Tickets are on sale from Absolute Radio Tickets now.
