The Killers tease new clip for upcoming album ‘Pressure Machine’
Fans get a glimpse of what they can expect from the seventh studio album

Alternative rockers The Killers have unveiled a teaser clip and offered a sneak-peek at the band’s forthcoming seventh studio album, ‘Pressure Machine.’
The new record will be due for release via EMI Records on 13th August 2021 and, like most new music over the past year and half, was inspired by the unexpected ramifications and the consequences of poor mental health due to the pandemic.
The Las Vegas band made the announcement via their Instagram feed yesterday evening, (26th July) by sharing a video clip that featured a car driving through the city and capturing images of oil rigs, graves, open roads, and buildings in disrepair, followed by the teaser of new music.
The clip also features voice overs that discuss the affects of drug addiction and substance abuse, and the search for a higher power. The preach of “everyone is just trying to escape something” resonates throughout the clip, sharing the universal feeling of desperately attempting to escape reality in whatever form may be available, whether that be for better or worse.
Retro 80s organs ring out against a backdrop of well known artwork and antique stores, the visuals and audio combining to create a sense of neon-dystopian landscapes throughout America.
Initially set to head out onto the open road throughout 2020 on their Imploding the Mirage tour, The Killers took the time instead to focus their attentions on new music. ‘Pressure Machine’ will be the bands most internally personal offering to date, with frontman Brandon Flowers confirming that the new material will be based on his own experiences of growing up in the quiet town of Nephi, Utah.
“Had it not been for advancements in the automotive industry, Nephi in the ‘90s could have been in the 1950s,” explains Brandon. “I discovered this grief that I hadn’t dealt with. Many memories of my time in Nephi are tender, but the ones tied to feat or great sadness were emotionally charged.”
‘Pressure Machine’ is set for release on 13th August 2021.
