The Killers have poked fun at President Donald Trump by posting a tongue-in-cheek tweet accusing the Grammy Awards of being ‘RIGGED’.

The full nominations list for the 2021 Grammy Awards was revealed last night (24th November), and despite releasing the fantastic album ‘Imploding The Mirage’ this summer, The Killers failed to pick up one solitary nomination.

Parodying Donald Trump’s endless and unsubstantiated tweets about the US Presidential election being rigged, The Killers wrote a hilarious tweet earlier this morning.

Written entirely in caps locks in true Trump style, The Killers wrote: “OBSERVERS WERE NOT ALLOWED INTO THE COUNTING ROOMS. WE WON THE GRAMMYS, GOT LOADS OF LEGAL VOTES.

“BAD THINGS HAPPENED WHICH OUR OBSERVERS WERE NOT ALLOWED TO SEE. NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. DOZENS OF BALLOTS WERE SENT TO PEOPLE WHO NEVER ASKED FOR THEM! #RIGGEDGRAMMYS #WEWON”

While The Killers were clearly poking fun, Canadian R&B singer The Weeknd wasn’t too happy about his Grammy Awards snub and accused the Recording Academy of being “corrupt.”

He wrote: “The Grammys remain corrupt. You owe me, my fans and the industry transparency...”

The Killers were nominated for seven Grammy Awards between 2005 and 2007 but failed to pick up a single win.

The 63rd annual Grammy Awards is schedule to take place in Los Angeles on Sunday 31st January 2021. Beyonce leads the nominations with nine nods.

The Killers’ rescheduled UK Imploding The Mirage Tour is set to take place in May and June 2021. Blossoms, Sam Fender and Manic Street Preachers will take turns opening for The Killers at the sold-out stadium shows.
