The Killers set new release date for 'Imploding The Mirage' & premiere video
It's finally released this summer
The Killers have confirmed that their fervently awaited sixth studio album ‘Imploding the Mirage’ will be released on Friday 21st August 2020.
The follow-up to 2017’s ‘Wonderful Wonderful’ was originally set for release on Friday 29th May, however the band delayed it because of the ongoing situation with the coronavirus pandemic.
Taking to social media last night, The Killers announced the album has been pushed back three months, writing: “COVID-19 monkey wrenched us. But we persevered. Folks, mark your calendars. 'Imploding The Mirage' is out August 21st.”
The Killers - 'My Own Soul's Warning' video
Together with revealing the new album release date, The Killers have premiered the video for their Absolute Radio playlisted anthem ‘My Own Soul’s Warning’. Watch it below.
'My Own Soul's Warning' opens with ambient atmospherics and Brandon Flowers’ plaintively singing: “I’ve tried going against my own soul’s warning/But in the end something just didn’t feel right.”
The track then explodes into life with trademark Killers euphoric synths and anthemic Bruce Springsteen-esque choruses.
In early June, The Killers addressed the killing of George Floyd with a new version of their 2019 standalone single 'Land of the Free'.
The Killers’ rescheduled UK Imploding the Mirage Tour takes place in May and June 2021.
