Coventry indie rock trio The Enemy have reunited and lined up a headline UK tour for September and October 2022.
Frontman Tom Clarke was performing a solo show at the HMV Empire in his native Coventry on Saturday night (30th October) when he was joined on stage by his former band mates Andy Hopkins (bass) and Liam Watts (drums).
Tom told the sold-out crowd: “The reason they are here today is because in about a year's time in this room, in this building all three of us are gonna be on stage as The Enemy, we are going to play a show.
"But that's not the best bit. The best bit is, there' no music industry here tonight, no journalists, just us and you lot and as of right now, the only people in the world who can buy tickets to that gig are you lot in the crowd."
Tom then pointed to QR codes around the venue that attendees could scan to buy tickets for The Enemy’s reunion show at Coventry HMV Empire on 28th October 2022. The concert sold out within hours of going on sale.
The Enemy have today (1st November) announced a full UK tour for September and October 2022 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of their chart-topping debut album ‘We'll Live And Die In These Towns.’
The tour calls in at Leeds, Newcastle, Sheffield, Manchester, Bristol, Cardiff, Norwich, Bournemouth, Birmingham, Leicester, London, Liverpool, Glasgow and Edinburgh before culminating in Coventry.
The Enemy will be joined by special guests Little Man Tate (all shows except for Sheffield, Cardiff and Norwich) and Wide Eyed Boy on the trek.
The Enemy said: “2022 marks the 15th anniversary of ‘We’ll Live And Die In These Towns’ and six years since we all played together. Over the last decade-and-a-half we’ve watched fans begin to really treasure those songs and we’re asked on an almost daily basis if there is any chance of the three of us getting back on stage together, so we know how much this will mean to the fans.
“What we weren’t expecting was quite how excited we would all be to play together again. There’s a lot of anticipation and excitement from the three of us to go out and play, just us, the songs and the fans. We really can’t wait!”
Tickets to The Enemy’s UK tour go on sale from Absolute Radio Tickets at 10am on Friday 5th November.
Formed in 2006, The Enemy released four studio albums before they went their separate ways a decade later. The band scored two Top 10 singles – ‘Away from Here’ and ‘Had Enough’ in 2007.
