Tears For Fears announce July 2022 UK tour with Alison Moyet
They're taking new album 'The Tipping Point' out on the road
Fresh from recently announcing their first studio album in almost 18 years, ‘The Tipping Point’, Tears For Fears have lined up a headline UK tour for next summer.
Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith will play more than a dozen shows throughout July 2022 at a mixture of indoor and outdoor venues. Alison Moyet is the very special guest at all dates.
Curt Smith says of The Tipping Point Tour: “We couldn’t be more excited to start playing concerts again. We’ve missed seeing our friends on the road around the world and the energy of performing live.”
Roland Orzabal adds: “The Tipping Point has been a long time in the making and we are looking forward to playing our favourites from the new album as well as our classics from throughout the years.”
Tears For Fears tickets:
Tickets to Tears For Fears’ UK tour go on sale from Absolute Radio Tickets at 9am on Friday 19th November 2021.
The follow-up to 2004’s reunion album ‘Everybody Loves a Happy Ending’, Tears For Fears’ new album ‘The Tipping Point’ is released on Friday 25th February 2022.
Commenting on why it has taken almost two decades to release new material, Roland Orzabal says: “Before everything went so right with this album, everything first had to go wrong, it took years, but something happens when we put our heads together. We’ve got this balance, this push-me-pull-you thing – and it works really well.”
Curt Smith comments: “If that balance doesn’t work on a Tears For Fears album, the whole thing just doesn’t work. To put it in simple terms, a Tears For Fears record and what people perceive to be the sound of Tears For Fears – is the stuff we can both agree on.”
One of the defining bands if the 1980s, Tears For Fears have sold more than 30 million albums globally and they’ve scored huge hits with tracks including ‘Shout,’ ‘Everybody Wants To Rule The World,’ ‘Mad World,’ ‘Sowing The Seeds Of Love,’ and ‘Woman In Chains.’
