Last night (Tuesday 21st January), Stereophonics and Ash played a very special show at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town for Absolute Radio.

Taking place just over a month before Stereophonics kick off their major headline UK arena tour in support of their number one album ‘Kind’, tickets for the relatively intimate 2,300 capacity show sold out in minutes.

Typically, Stereophonics didn’t disappoint playing a sprawling two-hour, 22-song set that featured six tracks from ‘Kind’ alongside other gems from their distinguished back catalogue, including breakthrough single ‘Local Boy in the Photograph’, ‘Have a Nice Day’, ‘Maybe Tomorrow’, ‘Mr Writer’, ‘The Bartender and the Thief’ and rousing set closer ‘Dakota’.

Fellow indie rock icons Ash, who release their career-spanning compilation album ‘Teenage Wildlife: 25 Years Of Ash on 14th February, also played a series of towering anthems during their opening set, including ‘A Life Less Ordinary’, ‘Kung Fu’, ‘Shining Light’ and ‘Girl From Mars’.

Ash's new single ‘Darkest Hour of the Night’, which singer Tim Wheeler recently opened up about on Absolute Radio’s series Time To Listen, also got its very first live outing.
