Shed Seven invite Twitter user who mistook them for shed company to UK tour
A happy ending to the viral Tweet

Shed Seven singer Rick Witter has revealed the band are giving free gig tickets to the person who went viral on Twitter when she mistook them for a shed company.
A few weeks before Christmas, a Twitter user called Jo took to the platform to vent her frustration at a shed company for their terrible customer service.
Thinking the company in question was indie chart-denters Shed Seven, she ranted: “@shedseven why don’t you answer your phones. I’ve tried without success to contact you for weeks since you failed to instal my shed on 24Nov! #crapcustomerservice.”
In response, Shed Seven wrote: “Sorry to hear you shed hasn’t been installed Jo. But we manufacture indie rock anthems and alas cannot help you. We’d be bloody useless with a hammer.”
Replying to another irate tweet, they wrote: “Once again I can only apologies, we’re not installing sheds due to us not installing sheds. We can install some fine music in your ears however .. new live album out soon.”
Speaking to our very own Jay Lawrence about the incident on Absolute 90s last night (28th April), Rick Witter says that now that Shed Seven’s November and December 2021 UK tour has been announced, they’re inviting Jo to the show of her choice.
“Yeah that was really funny, and at the time we were actually trying to promote this live album (December’s ‘Another Night, Another Town’) so that was a priceless bit of accidental publicity. So she did a great thing for us!
“So we contacted her in jest saying ‘I think you’ve got the wrong shed company here Jo.’ But because of that I invited her, she can come to one of our gigs - to a gig of her choosing - and I’ll give her a couple of tickets for that.
“In fact, funnily enough I think it was last week, she tweeted me showing me a picture of the shed that had finally arrived and been built in her garden. So I’ve actually seen the shed!
“Somebody suggested that she needs to get a number seven on there, which I think she’s going to do. So I think we should maybe go and open it!”
Shed Seven will embark on the extensive 18-date Another Night, Another Town: The Greatest Hits Live Tour in November and December 2021 and tickets are on sale from Absolute Radio Tickets now.
