Listen to Sam Fender's anthemic new song 'People Watching'

The first taster of his third album

North Shields’ prodigal son Sam Fender has premiered his new single ‘People Watching,’ the first taster and title track of his third studio album.

Stamped with Sam Fender’s euphoric heartland rock sound throughout, ‘People Watching’ was produced in Los Angeles alongside The War on Drugs’ Adam Granduciel.

Just like all of Sam Fender’s songs, the track packs a lyrical punch as well. ‘People Watching’ was written for his late friend and mentor, Annie Orwin, and is based on Sam’s thoughts as he travelled to and from her palliative care home.

A description of ‘People Watching’ reads: ‘A song with heart, soul, and a euphoria of feeling penned by a British musician whose observations on life as he experiences them have already taken him to headlining summer festivals, selling out stadiums, and becoming a bonafide household name.’

The CD single boasts an exclusive bonus track, Me & The Dog, whilst a 7” includes another exclusive bonus track, Tyrants. Both are available to purchase HERE.

When is Sam Fender’s new album released?

Sam Fender’s third studio album ‘People Watching’ is released on Friday 21st February 2025 via Polydor Records.

The 11-track record was produced by Sam alongside his bandmates Dean Thompson, Joe Atkinson, producer Markus Dravs, and Adam Granduciel.

The visually powerful album cover is an image captured by the late-great Tish Murtha, a social commentary photographer who documented marginalised communities and working class life in the North East.

You can pre-order the album HERE.
