Rod Stewart to play legends slot at Glastonbury 2025
Sir Rod says he's "proud" to land the slot
Faces rocker turned all-conquering solo star, Sir Rod Stewart, will play the Sunday teatime ‘legends slot’ at Glastonbury 2025.
Following Tony Bennett’s Sunday performance in 1998, Glastonbury’s legends slot has featured sets from the likes of Jeff Lynne’s ELO, James Brown, Ray Davies, Al Green, Neil Diamond, Paul Simon, Dolly Parton, and Diana Ross over the past 26 years.
Rock icon Rod Stewart will take the coveted early evening slot on The Pyramid Stage on Sunday 29th June 2025.
It will be Sir Rod’s first performance at Glastonbury since he headlined in 2002, the inaugural year of the so-called ‘superfence’ to stop punters from bunking in.
Tickets that year cost £97 for the weekend (£176 in today’s money), while tickets for the already sold-out Glastonbury 2025 were £373.50 each.
Rod Stewart said: “I’m proud, ready and more than able to pleasure and titillate my friends at Glastonbury in June.”
The singer will be 80 when he plays Glastonbury, and he’s already confirmed that he will cease playing "large-scale world tours" at the end of 2025.
Stewart is one of the best-selling artists in the history of recorded music with more than 250 million records and singles sold worldwide.
He is also a member of the US Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and was knighted in the 2016 Queen's Birthday Honours list.
The full Glastonbury line-up will be announced in spring 2025.
