The album ‘Rick Wakeman’s 70s Rock Down’ is released on Friday 27th November 2020 via Xploded TV and boasts timeless anthems from Queen, KISS, The Who, Deep Purple, Rory Gallagher, Foreigner, Slade, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Eric Clapton and Status Quo to name but a few.
Rick’s former band Yes also make an appearance with their Top 10 song from 1977 ‘Wonderous Stories’, while Rick Wakeman’s song ‘Catherine of Aragon’ from his 1973 concept album ‘The Six Wives of Henry VIII’ also makes an appearance.
Commenting on releasing a physical CD at a time when digital downloads are so prevalent, Rick Wakeman said: “Look, we’re older guys and we know that there are millions of older guys and girls out there - and some young ones as well - who want to slam on a great CD of classic rock music during lockdown, not fiddle about on a laptop trying to get internet connection that starts, stops and drops out. Sod that for a game of soldiers.”
