Paul Weller has announced details of a very exciting streaming event called Mid-Sömmer Musik – A Paul Weller Live Special.
Mid-Sömmer Musik is an up close and personal exclusive performance that was filmed at Paul Weller’s Black Barn Studios in Surrey during the summer heatwave in August 2020.
The Modfather was flanked by his band – Ocean Colour Scene’s Steve Cradock, Andy Crofts, Steve Pilgrim, Ben Gordelier and Tom Van Heel – for the set, which includes material from Paul Weller’s last two studio albums ‘True Meanings’ (2018) and ‘On Sunset’ (2020).
The performance also features some previously unheard, new Paul Weller songs that the music icon wrote and recorded during lockdown and are likely to feature on his sixteenth solo album.
Mid-Sömmer Musik – A Paul Weller Live Special is available to watch across the globe on Thursday 12th November 2020 and, alongside the exquisitely shot footage, there are also candid fly-on-the-wall moments and reflections from Paul himself.
Paul Weller’s two UK tours have both been postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic, and Mid-Sömmer Musik is the only change to witness Paul in live action this year.
“This is as close as we’re going to get this year to playing live and for us to play to people,” says Paul Weller. “For all of us to get back together was such a joy, and I didn’t realise how much I’d missed it until we started playing together again.”
“I wanted to play the new stuff because I’m so into it” Paul added. “It’s so sad we couldn’t play anything from On Sunset this year, I was really looking forward to playing that live”.
Tickets costing £15 are on sale right now RIGHT HERE ahead of the concert stream on 12th November. There is also a £22.50 ticket + art print bundle available featuring a limited edition A2 ‘Mid-Sommer Musik’ lithograph.
After the premiere of Mid-Sömmer Musik, it will also be available to watch back for 7 days after, so ticketholders can watch it at their convenience as many times as they like.
