Parkers’ Best Medium Family Car award goes to the Renault Scenic E-Tech
Parkers has partnered with Absolute Radio to bring you the award for the Best Medium Family Car
Parkers – the definitive resource for car buying advice in the UK – has partnered Absolute Radio to bring you the award for the Best Medium Family Car in its prestigious New Car Awards 2025. The winner has been revealed today (21 October) is the Renault Scenic E-Tech – one of a total of 10 award-winning cars announced by Parkers. The Renault’s combination of family-friendly space, comfort and all-round usability puts it out front.
When your family grows, your lifestyle changes – whether you’re thinking of the number of seats, or room in the boot. You’re likely to be thinking about going electric, too. Our winner, the Renault Scenic E-Tech, is the perfect car to keep your family safe, while being cheap to run, easy to use and still stand out from the crowd.
It finishes ahead of the updated Skoda Octavia, which continues to offer brilliant value for money, excellent spaciousness and low running costs and the evergreen Skoda Karoq. This mid-sized SUV might have been around a while, but it’s still packed with the latest tech, is super comfortable and, like the Octavia, comes highly recommended.
The experts at Parkers were impressed by the Renault Scenic E-Tech. Luke Wilkinson, Deputy Editor of Parkers, says: ‘for car enthusiasts, it has a big dash of old-school Renault va-va-voom, with enough spirit in its dynamic DNA to provide a decent amount of fun for keen drivers.’
Keith Adams, Editor of Parkers, adds: ‘I’ve owned several Scenics over the years and loved them all. This one continues that winning streak by bristling with clever, family-friendly tech and lots of storage solutions in an electric family car that delivers all the benefits of plug-in driving and zero ownership dramas.’
'In this year's New Car Awards, more than half of the winners – as well as our overall Car of The Year – are electric, which shows a huge shift in the competence and usability of these cars. But we also acknowledge that EVs still won’t work for enough people until we have more street charging, so the awards are peppered by lots of highly commended petrol and hybrid alternatives,' Keith says.
Now in its eighth year, the Parkers New Car Awards 2025 reflect the views of Britain’s car-buying public, with winners decided by a combination of the site’s expert reviewers’ verdicts in thousands of miles of road testing and the purchasing habits of the website’s 2.3+ million users actively involved in the buying process.
