Liam Gallagher has stuck the boot into American back-patting institution the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame after Oasis were named among the nominees for the Class of 2025.

The 14-strong shortlist for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame was unveiled on Wednesday (12th February) with the recently reunited Oasis picking up a nomination for a second consecutive year.

Also vying for induction this autumn are Joy Division/New Order (a rare joint nomination), The White Stripes, Bad Company, The Black Crowes, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Billy Idol, Phish, Soundgarden, Outkast, Maná, Mariah Carey and Cyndi Lauper.

Taking to social media to blast the Rock Hall, Liam Gallagher wrote: ‘RNR Hall of Fame is for W*NKERS.’

When asked what he will do if Oasis win, Liam immediately changed his tune and replied: “Obv go and say it’s the best thing EVER.’

Liam Gallagher slams the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Last year, Liam Gallagher was stronger worded in his takedown the the Rock Hall, writing: ‘F--- the Rock n Roll hall of fame its full of BUMBACLARTS LG (sic)’

When one of his followers shared the fan vote, which accounts for one of the 1,000 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ballots, Liam replied: “Don’t waste your time Rkid as much as it’s appreciated it’s all a load of b------.”

After arguing that “it’s not even rock and roll” and “a joke”, Liam responded to a fan who said Oasis deserve their spot by writing: “I appreciate that you do but I honestly feel there’s something very fishy about those awards.

In an interview with the Sunday Times last year, Liam explained that he doesn’t want to be rubbing shoulders with artists like Mariah Carey in the Rock Hall.

“As much as I love Mariah Carey and all that, I want to say: do me a favour and f--- off,” Liam said.

“It’s like putting me in the rap hall of fame, and I don’t want to be part of anything that mentally disturbed. Besides, I’ve done more for rock n’ roll than half of them clowns on that board, so it’s all a load of b-----ks.”

The final inductees will be announced in April, with the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2025 Induction Ceremony taking place on a yet-to-be-announced date in Cleveland this autumn.

To be eligible for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, artists are required to have released their first record 25 years prior to induction.

Oasis kick off their reunion Live in ’25 Tour at Cardiff Principality Stadium on Friday 4th July 2025.
