Oasis triumph at first gig in 16 years at Cardiff Principality Stadium – setlist and photos

Oasis triumphed at their first live concert in 16 years tonight (Friday 4th July) at a truly electric Cardiff Principality Stadium.

After their trademark taped intro of ‘Fuckin' in the Bushes’, a visibly emotional Liam and Noel Gallagher walked on stage hand-in-hand to deafening cheers from the adoring Cardiff crowd.

The reunited Gallagher brothers were flanked by guitarists Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthur (his first Oasis concert since 1998) and Gem Archer, bassist Andy Bell, and drummer Joey Waronker in his live Oasis debut.

Oasis then launched into a triumphant 'Hello' from their classic 1995 album '(What's the Story) Morning Glory?', with its very apt "It's good to be back" closing refrain.

The seminal B-side ‘Acquiesce’ was next with its highly pertinent chorus of “Because we need each other / We believe in one another” never sounding so right.

All killer and no filler, Oasis treated the audience to a cavalcade of anthems including ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’, ‘Little by Little’, ‘Slide Away’, ‘Supersonic’ and ‘Half the World Away’.

In a highly poignant moment later in the set, Oasis displayed an image of late Liverpool player Diogo Jota on the screens during their ‘Live Forever’ performance, which was met with widespread applause from the Cardiff faithful.

After a typically riotous ‘Rock N’ Roll Star’, Oasis walked off the stage and returned a few minutes later for the rousing encore of ‘The Masterplan’, ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ and ‘Champagne Supernova’.
