It appears on the upcoming reissue of 'The Masterplan'
Oasis have premiered a new music video for their seminal B-side ‘Acquiesce.’
Penned by Noel Gallagher, ‘Acquiesce’ originally appeared as a B-side to Oasis’ first Number 1 single ‘Some Might Say’ in 1995 alongside fellow flipside tracks ‘Talk Tonight’ and ‘Headshrinker.’
A firm fan favourite upon its release and regularly performed live by Oasis, Noel Gallagher has since admitted that ‘Acquiesce’ was good enough to feature on an Oasis studio album.
‘Acquiesce’ did appear on B-sides compilation album ‘The Masterplan’ in 1998, however, which is getting a remastered reissue on Friday 3rd November 2023 to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
Ahead of the collector’s edition reissues of ‘The Masterplan’, Oasis have shared a new video for ‘Acquiesce’ that nods one of the original music videos.
Oasis filmed two videos for ‘Acquiesce’ – one captures them live at the G-Mex Centre in Manchester on 14th December 1997, and the second from 2006 features a Japanese tribute band belting out the track.
In homage to both videos, the newly premiered lyric video features archive footage of Oasis belting live via grainy TV screens amidst Japanese cityscapes.

‘The Masterplan’ features 14 B-sides from seven singles Oasis released between 1994 and 1997, and despite being a compilation, it’s widely regarded as one of the Manchester band's finest records.
Boasting remastered audio taken from the 'Chasing The Sun' reissues, the 25th anniversary re-release of ‘The Masterplan’ is available to purchase on various formats including CD, cream cassette, and limited-edition double vinyl formats (heavyweight silver, green and black marble and black).
Oasis’ 'The Masterplan' charted at No.2 in the UK Official Album Chart selling almost 122,000 copies in its first week of release in 1998. It went on to be certified triple platinum and has sold over three million copies worldwide.
