Oasis lynchpin Noel Gallagher has joined psychedelic indie supergroup Mantra of the Cosmos to perform on their new single ‘Domino Bones (Gets Dangerous).’

Formed by Ringo Starr’s son and The Who drummer Zak Starkey in 2023, Mantra of the Cosmos also features Happy Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder and maracas shaker Bez alongside Oasis and Hurricane #1 guitarist Andy Bell.

The quartet unleashed their gloriously bonkers singles ‘Gorilla Guerilla’ and ‘X (Wot You Sayin?)’ in 2023 and made their Glastonbury debut that summer.

Mantra of the Cosmos’ new single ‘Domino Bones (Gets Dangerous)’ features their good friend Noel Gallagher sharing vocal duties with Shaun Ryder.

Describing the yet-to-be-premiered ‘Domino Bones (Gets Dangerous)’ as “(Lynyrd Skynyrd’s) ‘Free Bird’ for Mods,” Zak Starkey said the song is named after Bez’s first band.

Commenting on collaborating with Noel Gallagher, Starkey says: “It’s not every day that the greatest songwriter of my generation - not to mention Shaun, the greatest beat poet of our times - sends a tune to me and I was in a daze for a bit cos it’s not something you want to f--- up! It came together great - everyone digs it!

"Noel loves Shaun. He texted me to say 'Do you know what you've got? The British Bob Dylan' - and he's not f---ing about because now I've witnessed what Shaun does. Noel calls him the 'king of lyrics'.”

Noel Gallagher adds: “Mantra Of The Cosmos is like (Bob) Dylan, (Salvador) Dali and (Allen) Ginsberg on a Rocketship to the moon to have it with The Clangers.”

Mantra of the Cosmos - Domino Bones (Gets Dangerous)

Mantra of the Cosmos at The Cavern:

Mantra of the Cosmos will play two shows at Liverpool’s world-famous Cavern club at 3pm and 8pm on Sunday 19th January 2025.

‘Domino Bones (Gets Dangerous)’ will be released exclusively on vinyl at the concerts and via The Cavern’s official website.

Starkey, whose dad Ringo played The Cavern numerous times with The Beatles, enthuses: “Can’t believe I’ve never even been there. There’s a great deal of family heritage at the cavern aside from the Beatles my parents courted there…who knows, I may have even been conceived there!

“It’s great to be playing there and they’re great people, really looking after us. The Cavern was rebuilt but it’s the original in spirit and I’m buzzing to be doing it.”
