Manic Street Preachers joined Bush & Richie on Absolute Radio this morning to perform three live tracks during the final hours of the 24 Hour Jukebox.

Showing their support for Bush & Richie’s marathon show in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust, shortly after 7am the Manics performed a rousing live rendition of their seminal 1996 anthem ‘A Design For Life’, plus versions of ‘Orwellian’ and ‘Complicated Illusions’ from the band’s Number 1 album ‘The Ultra Vivid Lament.’

Speaking to Bush & Richie on Wednesday, Manic Street Preachers bassist Nicky Wire said he hoped ‘A Design For Life’ in particular would give them a boost.

“Yeah, we’re gonna slip in ‘A Design For Life’,” Nicky said at the time. “I think because it just always gives us a bit of energy as much as everyone else, and you might need it!”
